Commercial Submission Requirements

  • Commercials must have been completed after Jan, 1, 2006
  • All non-English commercials must have English sub-titles.
  • Commercials must be submitted for preview on DVD or ½” VHS tape (NTSC or PAL).
  • Preview copy - DVD should be labeled with the title, running-time, and contact information (name, email and phone number).
  • Screening copy - each commercial entry must be submitted on its own DigiBeta or BetaSP (NTSC). This is the format your commercial will screen on at the Festival.
  • Each submission must be accompanied with an entry form.

Deadlines:

  • Commercials must be received by the following deadline:
    Final Deadline - July 1, 2007

Fees:

  • Fees: $275 for each entry
  • Checks or money orders made payable to: LA Shorts Fest
  • Foreign entry fees should be drawn on money orders or traveler's checks in U.S. dollars. Only through a U.S. affiliated bank.
  • All fees are non-refundable
  • Write title of commercial on check or money order
  • Entries will not be viewed without entry fee payment

Selection:

  • ALL ENTRIES ARE GURANTEED TO SCREENED AT LEAST ONCE DURING THE FESTIVAL
  • The entrant will be responsible for All Shipping Fees.
  • LA Shorts Fest cannot be held liable for print/video materials which may be lost or damaged.

Awards:

  • Awards will be determined by the Festival Committee.
  • The following award will be presented:
    •  Best Commercial Spot

Return of DVD/Video Cassettes:

  • If you would like your DVD and Beta tape returned please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Check List:

  • Entry fee (write title of commercial on check)
  • Preview DVD or ½” VHS tape of commercial. Label with contact information
  • Screening copy - Each entry must be submitted on its own DigiBeta or BetaSP tape.
  • If you would like to make sure that we received your submission, please enclose a self-address, stamped postcard which we will send back to you.
